ARTS DIARY:
A new initiative:
If you are participating in a play or a concert or an art exhibition or the like, let me know and I will advertise it here.  Let's widen the scope of OCs supporting OCs.

LAWYERS’ SOCIETY:
Paul Maxlow-Tomlinson has formed a Lawyers’ Society after a good response.  If you are interested, contact him at  maxlow@talktalk.net      Indicate years at Cranleigh, name of Chambers, Company or Partnership, and proximity to London. We already have the flourishing Surveyors’ Club, City Society, Ling Cow Luncheon Club (Shipping), Livery Association and Lodge.  Who will volunteer to inspire a Medics Club, or others?

OC DINNER:
Will Fawcett (East, 79-84) is to be Chairman of the 2008 OC Dinner on Saturday 18 October. Of course, as always, it will be open to all, but he plans as one theme Tour Reunions, this year marking the 25th Anniversary of the first ever overseas School sports tour, the rugby trip to Australia and New Zealand.  The plan is to have a formal Dinner at a London venue, with partners, and then to have a Dance for those who choose to stay.

Would you kindly let me know if you were involved in a Tour or Special Event, when it was, who you can remember was on it, particularly captains/leaders and who out of those might be the best person to circulate the others and get up a table or two (unless you would like to do that yourself!)? One that comes to mind is the fabled 1 North Outing to Zimbabwe in 1985, starring Dick Moore, Andrew Fowler-Watt and MKP, and visiting Alan Megahey at Peterhouse!!

GOLDEN OLDIES:
at Thames Ditton -
Sat 25 Oct -    12.0 Bar opens,  1.0  Lunch,  3.0  1st XV v London Media
"The social event of the Autumn rugby calendar is just round the corner - The Golden Oldies Lunch at TD, an occasion not to be missed. A heady mixture of old friendships renewed, traditional OC reminiscence and good cheer.   As usual we will kick off with pre lunch beer, followed by a three course meal accompanied by particularly good wines, the ever popular ‘fiver' draw and words of welcome and wisdom from President Meyer. Then outside to support our very excellent 1st XV, unbeaten and top of their league last season and  newly promoted to Surrey 2. They really do value your noisy support on the touchline."
All this for £22 including wine. Wives, partners and friends as usual very welcome. Cheque to: John Cooke, 32 West St, Dorking, Surrey RH4 1DD
