In the last year he has appeared for England Under-19s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlaying for Surrey has been a childhood dream of mine,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m excited and very proud to have signed my first pro contract here. Our squad is full of incredible cricketers, and I\u2019m really looking forward to learning from them.  I am eager to show my skills in senior cricket and hopefully earn my debut cap for Surrey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chris Taylor, Head of the Surrey Talent Pathway, said \u201cAlex is a promising prospect, and we all have high hopes for him. He\u2019s a hard-working cricketer with a positive attitude and is always keen to grow and improve as a player. I\u2019m delighted that he has earned his first, well-deserved pro contract.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thomas signed a professional contract in May. In 2024 he became the first Cranleighan to score 1000 runs in a school season. \u201cI\u2019m delighted to sign my first professional contract with my home club,\u201d he said. \u201cSince joining the Surrey pathway at 11 years old, it\u2019s been my dream to represent the men\u2019s first team.
