The OC Sports Club, which was opened in 1928, is home to the OC Rugby Club, operating two sides, the OC Hockey Club, with ten men’s and seven ladies’ teams, and the newly reformed OC Football Club. Spectators are always welcome at home matches, details of which can be found on each club’s website, or telephone the Club.
Following an £850,000 refurbishment and expansion programme in the early 1990s, the Club is now a substantial business, while yet retaining the OC ethos. To contribute towards running costs, pitch and clubhouse facilities are let to non-OC users when not required for OC games and other local clubs and schools, endorsing the view that this is one of the most attractive sporting venues in the area. A further £500,000 was invested in 2018 in a new pitch surface and improvements to the changing rooms and bar areas.
With its Edwardian clubhouse set in 20 acres of secluded grounds, with ample parking, catering and bar facilities, Thames Ditton provides a warm and welcoming location for birthday and anniversary parties, wedding receptions, and company open days. Details of all the Club’s facilities can be obtained by contacting the above.
With its prime location and extensive facilities, Thames Ditton now attracts some 11,000 people annually. This broad based profile of users and visitors in terms of sex, interests, business occupation and purchasing power presents an attractive advertising opportunity round the artificial turf pitch perimeter. Taken up by a number of local companies and supporters, this promotional medium provides excellent value for money.
