One of Cranleigh’s longest serving employees, Michael Howick, retired last week after an incredible 48 and a half years on the bursarial staff.
Tsarting in 1978 in the Catering department as a supervisor to becoming a cherished part of the Cranleigh community and dealing with all things stores, Michael was a part of Cranleigh’s fabric for nearly five decades.
A presentation took place in the Dining Hall last week at which he was also made an honorary member of the OC Society.
There have been Howicks working at Cranleigh since the 1920s and they are one of the village’s oldest families. The line continue as Michael’s sister Linda still works at the School.
