Allen makes his mark in Kenya

Duncan Allen, a leaver in 2010, made his debut as a top-order batsman for a Kenya XI against Indian state side Baroda in Nairobi in August and scored 34 and 12 in a heavy defeat.

He then played for Kenya A twice against Uganda, scoring runs and taking wickets, and that earned him a call-up to the Kenya side for the Africa Under-19 Championship where he was one of the leading players.  In seven matches he made 285 runs at 47.50, including two fifties; he also took seven wickets at 15.43.  Kenya finished second and in so doing made it through to the 2012 ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifiers.

Allen made his mark at a 17-year-old when he scored a double hundred in Kenya’s NPCA league, and earlier this summer scored his maiden hundred for the OCCC.
