Cranleigh celebrated its 160th anniversary with a memorable concert at GLive in Guildford last Saturday, featuring a unique ensemble of current and former pupils, parents and staff. Congratulations to Adam Thomas (Loveday 2024) on his hundred on his Championship debut for Surrey v Sussex at The Oval. Team-mate Dom Sibley said: "All the senior guys out there can tell you how composed he was; obviously, his technique was so strong, so to see him go out there and play really well, to convert that into a hundred as well, and the way he went through the gears was so impressive. I'm sure that's going to be the first of many for AT." One of Cranleigh School’s most iconic and oldest landmarks disappeared last week with the felling of Clare’s Oak on Jubilee. One of Cranleigh's longest serving employees, Michael Howick, retired last week after an incredible 48 and a half years on the bursarial staff . A fire on Thursday evening completely destroyed the old pavilion on the Weston Green Sports Club which was bought by the OC Society in 2021. The main OC Club was unaffected. The planning application for the proposed modernisation and improvement of the OC Club is now available to view on the Elmbridge BC website - https://bit.ly/4bne8gF A wonderful evening on Sunday when almost 400 people attended the OC Carol Service in the Chapel. Some amazing singing and a truly memorable event. Thank you to all who came, the choir, the readers, and especially to all who worked so hard to make it happen Rick Johnson (1 North 1991) is undertaking a gruelling six-week tour of Australia to try to raise £150,000 for Take Her Lead, a charity promoting equality & diversity, working to ensure every woman and girl can fulfil her potential & thrive in cricket.
