Meaningful conservation

Lewis Bedford (Cubitt 2017) has today launched a new charity – The SockStar Project – which aims to support those who work to protect endangered species – wildlife rangers.

While the safeguarding of endangered animals receives widespread media coverage, what is generally not appreciated is the lack of basic necessities of those who do this work, men and women who too often put their own lives on the line. Many of them lack basics such as socks, toothebrushes and feminine hygiene products. The SockStar Project aims to put that right, as well as provide educational support for their families.

“Please see my launch video, and share it as far and wide as you can,” Lewis said. “The greater our exposure, the more rangers we can support in the future. One click makes a hell of a difference in these times.

“These are the brave men and women that protect the wildlife that you or one day even your children might see. They are the gatekeepers of our natural world, and for just £2 a month, we can ensure they are supported, nourished and championed. Is £2 a month too much to ask, to fund their basic needs and so much more?”

Lewis has spent months on the groundwork for this launch and we wish him well.  And, as he says, is £2 a month too much to ask?  Click here to help
